چکیده
Background: A previous report evaluated the initial 310 cementless, Buechel-Pappas (B-P), Semi-Constrained Rotating Platform total knee replacements in 257 patients followed for an average of 7.6 years, range 2 - 18 years. Diagnoses were osteoarthritis 233 patients, post traumatic arthritis 4 and rheumatoid 22 patients. Knee Scores, using a strict scoring scale 86.4% excellent, 12.3% good, 0.3% fair 1.0% poor results. Survivorship, end point revision any mechanical reason (including component loosening, bearing wear dislocation) was 99.4%. Survivorship score persistent pain, instability infection 97.6%. The purpose present study is to updated results this same patient cohort at minimum follow-up twenty Methods: age time surgery 67 34 91 20 (22 knees) still living, with 30 years (mean 23.47 years). survivorship analysis used evaluate outcomes interval. Results: current study, points as 96.5% 30-year intervals. Late failure osteolysis not identified. Conclusion: This semi-constrained rotating platform replacement has stood test more than can be considered acceptable long-term use, properly selected

Cemented rotating-platform total knee replacement. a concise follow-up, at a minimum of fifteen years, of a previous report.
We previously evaluated 119 consecutive total knee arthroplasties that were performed in eighty-six patients with use of the cemented LCS (low contact stress) rotating-platform system with an all-polyethylene patellar component. The average age of the patients at the time of surgery was seventy years (range, thirty-seven to eighty-eight years). The purpose of this study was to report the update...

We previously reported the five-to-six-year results of the use of third-generation alumina-on-alumina bearings in a consecutive series of 100 primary cementless total hip arthroplasties. This report presents the longer-term outcomes of these same bearings, at a minimum of ten years postoperatively. Eighty-six of eighty-eight hips available for the study retained the original bearings at the tim...

Background: Modern knee designs have popularized its use in younger patients due to its better performance. There remains uncertainty whether higher demands of these patients can affect implant survivorship. Purpose: To assess whether modern knee designs have provided similar results in patients younger than 70 years versus older patients. Methods: We included 203 consecutive patients (236 ...

Rotating-platform, mobile-bearing total knee arthroplasty was initially developed using a posterior cruciate-sacrificing technique and design. Posterior cruciate-substituting and -retaining, rotating-platform total knee arthroplasty designs were developed later. The purpose of this study was to evaluate a minimum 4-year follow-up of total knee arthroplasty performed with a posterior cruciate-re...

We report the updated results for a previously evaluated cohort of patients who were less than fifty years old when they underwent Charnley total hip arthroplasty with cement. The original cohort consisted of ninety-three total hip arthroplasties performed in sixty-nine patients. The patients were followed for a minimum of twenty-five years after surgery or until death. The present report descr...
